The Korean language is one of the world’s more common languages, with more than 80 millions speakers all over the world currently. According to Wikipedia, it is the official language of South Korea and North Korea as well as one of the two official languages in China’s Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. With the vast number of people in these regions alone, it is no surprise that so many people request writing and translation services in the Korean language.

Korean as a written language implements many characters loaned from the Chinese language. These characters, known as hanja, were adapted by many of the aristocratic members more than one hundred years ago and it is now accepted by much of the nation. Like many other countries, the Korean language has many local dialects based upon region and other factors. These dialects include:

  • Seoul
  • Munhwao
  • Hamgyong
  • P’yongan
  • Central
  • Yeongdong
  • Gyeongsang
  • Jeolla
  • Jeju
